YOU are invited to join us in worship each Sunday morning at 10:00am at Gibson Memorial United Church. We are also very happy to provide worship services via Zoom for those who find it difficult to attend in-service, but want to stay connected in faith. Our bulletin, Zoom link and announcements are emailed to our congregation each week. You are welcome to contact our office if you would like to receive this email and information.
As of March 20, 2022, masking or proof of vaccine is no longer mandatory during worship service.
Whether you come on your own, with family, or with friends, there is a place for you in our Gibson church family. “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” – Matthew 25:35
Gibson is a multi-generational, all-inclusive church with a warm and welcoming social community. Our deeply rooted history in the Devon community is immediately felt in our sanctuary’s traditional appeal and beautiful stained glass windows. Following our services we gather in our bright and spacious hall for fellowship and refreshments. Always a highlight of our Sunday mornings together!
Our Ministry of Music is led by our very talented Heather Fyffe, who selects most-loved hymns to worship by each week. In addition we like to welcome musical groups or soloists to join us for special services, or have ‘Hymn-Sing Sundays’ to keep things lively.
Gibson church has enriched the lives of many generations of youth through our Sunday School program over the years. The ‘young at heart’ enjoy Conversation Time with our minister (much to our congregation’s delight); before heading off to our large, Christian-themed, activity-centered Sunday School. Sunday School is led by a group of lovely and dedicated volunteers wanting to inspire faith and fun in our young. Friendships and connections that last a lifetime have been formed here!
What would a church community be without dedicated volunteers? At Gibson, our gracious volunteers are continually working behind the scenes helping to manage our faith and ministry programs, overseeing building and property operations, and providing refreshments and support during funerals. Through the many helping hands at Gibson, our Annual Yard Sale, and church suppers are widely anticipated by people of the community. These events truly highlight the love and cohesiveness of our church family, while allowing us to continue in our journey of faith and outreach. Our reward in this manner is truly in service and fellowship.
There is a place for you at Gibson Memorial United Church…Everyone is welcome here!
